Korean economy has shown a somewhat enviable preformances in the last two decades, not only in the quantity of economic scales but also int he quality of economic system. Given the poor natural resources and the poor domestic capital stocks at the beginning, she has accomplished the incessant, high economic growth, in pursuit of export-driving economic development policy well harmonized with significant inflow of foreign capitals. Among many other semi-industrialized countries recently successful in their economic growth from the comparative advantages of the efficient labor utilizations and the economy of scale in the international trades, Korea now is to take the second take-off with new development strategy of more sophiscated industrial structure adjustments. But there are various socio-economic obstacles to be overcomed onto the way to realize her more advanced economic system, such as worldwidely prolonged depression, another possible oil-shocks, various socioeconomic difficulties expected in the transitional period of industrial structure adjustments, and the balance of payments appeared to be aggrevated slowly. ... A Study on Export Marketing Strategy of Small Business in Korea

Korean export was based on the outwardlooking development strategy and its volume has been rapidly increased, these trend is caused by the virtue of Economic Development Plan commenced from 1962. Up to the end of 1950's exporting items were limitted to the goods of the first industry and also its amount was insignificant, but it had been epochally increased during the periods of 1960's and 1970's. That is to say, in 1964, Korean exported the amount of 120 million in US Dallar. It has been gradually increasing as years go by, in 1981 did export amount reach to 20.8 billion in US Dollar.
