A DYNAMIC RESOURCE-BASED VIEW OF SUSTAINABLE ENTREPRENEURIAL GROWTH
  • - Sun Kyu Lim (Brock University)
[Abstract]
In this paper, we take an initial step toward a theory of sustainable growth of entrepreneurial firms. We present a three-dimensional dynamic resource pyramid with five vertices; a theoretical framework built on the resource-based view the system dynamics perspective. The five vertices represent the resource bundles relavent to the early growth of entrepreneurial firms: strategic, physical, financial, human, organizational resources. Using this dynamic resource pyramid model along with several case examples, we argue that the sustainability of entrepreneurial growth depends on the dynamic balance fit among the interacting dimensions of the resource system.
